JOB SUMMARY
This position is located Morale, Welfare, and Recreation, Child and Youth Program School Age Care, Naval Air Station Meridian, MS. The incumbent may be involved in one or more recreational activity such as community activities, youth activities, outdoor recreation, craft and hobby shops, aquatics, or other similar Family Readiness CYP or MWR services or events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for providing assistance in the oversight of activities and necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on the use of facilities and equipment. Assists in the programming, planning, and implementations of a variety of recurring and non-recurring activities. Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures and may assist assigned personnel in the monitoring of change funds, theater tickets, etc. May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or perform clerical and/or general maintenance duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Incumbent must be 16-18 years of age. Must be able to learn CYP/MWR/FR policies, rules, and regulations involving work areas, and have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of basic mathematics and the purpose of recreational equipment and activities desired. *Preference is given to teen dependents of active duty military personnel. Dependents must present their Dependent I.D. at the time of application submission. *Must be available to work the 10 – 12 week employment period scheduled to start 05/29/2018.

Must be physically able to stand, bend, or walk in the performance of work. Light lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Position is subject to special inoculation and immunization requirements as a condition of employment for working with children. Employee is required to obtain appropriate immunization against communicable diseases in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which includes the influenza vaccine. Must pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization, and be free from communicable disease. Satisfactorily complete all background checks in accordance with PL- 101-647 to include Installation Record Check.

Incumbent must meet the minimum age requirement for the local geographic area where the position is to be filled. Must be able to learn FRP/MWR/CYP policies, rules and regulations involving work areas, and have the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of basic mathematics and knowledge of the purpose of recreational equipment and activities are desired.

Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable).
